Fake credit card numbers for all major brands
A Modulo 10 formula on steroids, the Luhn algorithm can validate the majority of credit card numbers!
- Drop the last digit from the number. The last digit is what we want to check against.
- Reverse the numbers
- Multiply the digits in odd positions (1, 3, 5, etc. ) by 2, deducting 9 from each result that is greater than 9.
- Add all the numbers together
- To get a multiple of 10, you would add the check digit, which is the card’s last number (Modulo 10).
