What Happens to Mirage in ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’?
The main character in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Mirage (voiced by Pete Davidson), is an Autobot who fights alongside Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen). One of the primary characters in Rise of the Beasts is Mirage, the Autobot who accompanied human Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos) to battle the Transformer that devours planets, Unicron. ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ End-Credits Scene Brings Mirage Back
During Rise of the Beasts’ end credits sequence, we find out that Noah has been repairing a new car using parts that his criminal friend Reek (Tobe Nwigwe) gave him. We quickly learn that this vehicle is actually Mirage, whom Noah has been gradually reassembling. After completing his tasks, Mirage comes back to life to reassure fans that Noah is still alive. We should be able to laugh at Reek’s panic when he discovers the car is alive during the end credits scene. Instead, this end-credits scene challenges logic regarding Autobots physiology.
The fact that Autobots can be healed using ordinary auto parts is strange, even though it’s fantastic that Mirage survived the battle against Scourge. Noah’s decision to reassemble Mirage using inert metal parts rather than alien ones doesn’t really make sense because the robots in disguise are actually aliens who merely pose as vehicles in order to blend in. Furthermore, Bumblebee is used in Rise of the Beasts to clarify that an Energon energy surge is the only way to revive an Autobot, which appears not to be the case with Mirage. Finally, if Mirage had been alive the entire time, had he sensed Noah manipulating his internal organs and changing the shape of his body from the inside out? The Rise of the Beasts end credits scene has a terrifying scene that hasn’t left us thinking about it.
